With tryouts over, now the real games begin for CHS Basketball teams

After a few weeks of tryouts and practices, both the Carbon High boys and girls basketball teams will be looking to start their seasons off on a high note this week as they kickoff the start of their 2012-13 seasons.

For the Carbon High girls, the loss of a group of seniors figures to leave the team in search of players who will step up and fill the void. This year's squad features a number of underclassmen as the team has only two seniors listed on the roster including Ashley Quinton and Jennee Martinez. The team was scheduled to play Pine View at home on Tuesday night.

For the Carbon High boys, the return of many players from last year's team has everyone focused on being a top competitor in Region 12 as well as advancing to the state tournament.

The boys were scheduled to start their season on the road with a game at American Fork on Tuesday night.

The results from both games will be printed in Tuesday's Sun Advocate.
