No matter a team's record, hard work can pay off in the end.
That's what Carbon High School soccer goalkeeper Jaylie Jensen found out as she was honored by Region 12 coaches for the 2012 soccer season.
Jensen, a sophomore who moved to Price before the season, did an incredible job for the team this season, said co-head coach Tracy Brady.
"This is a big honor for Jaylie," said Brady. "She helped keep us in many games this season with her saves."
Brady cited Jensen's quick reactions to the ball on the field, improved footwork and reaching the high shots near the end as the reasons for good play over the course of the season.
Despite being only a sophomore, Brady and the other coaches believe Jensen can develop into a leader for the team for another two years.
"This is a huge step for Jaylie to get this award and for the team as well," she said. "Hopefully she and the rest of the will shine next season and for years to come."
