Community Nursing Services
Community Nursing Services (CNS) was established in 1928, to provide nursing care for sick people in their homes as an alternative to hospitalization. CNS began as a voluntary, non-profit agency, when the existing Visiting Nursing Association of Salt Lake and the Private Duty Registry were combined. In 1930, Salt Lake Community Nursing Services became a participating agency of the Community Chest, later to be known as United Way.
Through the CNS Senior Wish program we were able to provide a memory for some of our patients, one patient had her hair done, one patient had a dinner with family and friends and one patient recently went river rafting.
CNS has served Carbon and Emery counties for over 14 years and is a CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Program) and is the only VA contracted home health provider. CNS has won Best of State awards in 2010 and 2011. CNS is a community -based, not-for-profit, full service home care corporation composed of four operating divisions, CNS VNA Home Health- Medicare certified and skilled home care, CNS Home Health Plus - non-skilled services, CNS Pharmacy- IV and nutrition support, CNS Community Hospice- Certified hospice that includes Palliative Care program and a proud partner with United Way.
