Oscar Molinar, Sr.

PRICE - Oscar Molinar, Sr., age 58, passed away peacefully Oct. 11, 2012, while surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 27, 1953 in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico to Guadalupe and Sahara Trejo Molinar. Oscar spent most of his youth in Mexico where he attended military school and served as a Presidential Guard from 1968-1973. He was very proud of his call of duty and to serve his country. He worked as a Police Officer for many years for the State of Chihuahua.

On Sept. 30, 1987, he married Ruby Lee Strong in El Paso, Texas and they moved to Utah in the late 1980's so he could make a better life for his family. He worked various jobs in the area so he could provide for his family. Oscar's number one priority was his family and he was deeply proud of them, especially his granddaughters which were the light of his life.

Oscar is survived by his ex-wife, Ruby, Riverton; three sons, Oscar (Jeanine) Molinar, Brian (Cassie) Molinar, both of Grand Junction, Jason Molinar, Salt Lake City; granddaughters, Mikala, Lexi, Isabella, Joslynn, all of Grand Junction, Colo; brother, Lupe (Marcella) Molinar, Helper; sister, Elva Molinar, Price; nieces and nephews, Mark, Merlinda, Frank, Omar, Jessica , Sindee, Ruby and Lalo; uncles and aunt, Rey, Baltazar, Tona and Monse Trejo, and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Romelia Molinar and niece, Nancy Molinar.

Funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 E. Main Street, Price). Family was at Mitchell's on Sunday afternoon from 3 - 5 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Oscar at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
