PRICE/TUCSON,Ariz. - Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Frances Peternel returned to our Heavenly Father on Sept. 22, 2012 at the age of 87.
Frances was born May 3, 1925, in Zagorye, Yugoslavia (Slovenia) to Anton and Maria Sedmak Sabec.
On July 16, 1957, she married Joseph Peternel Jr., in Brezje, Yugoslavia (Slovenia) at the village church. He died April 13, 1994.
She arrived in the United States on Feb. 2, 1958, making Price her new home. Frances was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Western Slavonic Association and S.N.P.J. Lodge #113.
She is survived by her daughter Maria and son-in-law Robert Turk; grandchildren Andrew and Julie Turk of Tucson, Ariz.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, newborn children, brothers; Evan Sabec, Anton Sabec, and Nicoli Sabec and sister Maria Sabec.
Funeral Mass, Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church (190 N. Carbon Ave). Vigil service, Thursday evening 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 E. Main Street). Family will be at Mitchell's Thursday and Friday one hour prior to service. Committal service, Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Frances online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
