Helper's premiere 1st Friday keeps lights lit on Main

Whether hand-painted or neon, the signs on Helper's Historic Main Street district said open, and the lighted interiors of shops, galleries and eateries cast a glow on the town's business district. Businesses decided to launch the First Friday event to draw people to town for a recurring special occasion. By 6 p.m. Friday, just about every parking space in the district was occupied as people stopped by to spend some time on a pleasant evening.
