In their first season playing baseball, the Pinnacle Canyon Academy Panthers baseball team is looking to make a statement.

With a 13-9 win over Green River in a play-in game on Monday morning in Richfield, the PCA Panthers advanced to the 1A State Quarterfinals where they will play West Ridge Academy today in Spanish Fork at 10 a.m. at the Spanish Fork Complex Field.

The Panthers jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Green River tied the game at 5-5. In the fourth inning, PCA's Jake Hardy hit a go-ahead bases loaded double giving the Panthers a lead they would not relinquish.

Isaiah Martinez started the game and Rowdy Houskeeper came in relief to help get the win for the Panthers.
