GREEN RIVER - Ellen Annie Dimick Peacock peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sept. 13, 2012 of natural causes at the age of 96 in the Richfield Care Center, Richfield.

Ellen was born Aug. 16, 1916 to Francis and Annie Latturner Dimick at their home in Sunnyside. She married Ellis Deloss Peacock Oct. 30, 1936 in the Manti Temple. They are the parents of four daughters and one son, 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

In her youth, Ellen was very much a tomboy, preferring the outdoors. She loved to play tennis, shoot guns and go horseback riding, but most of all she loved to dance.

Ellen and Ellis lived in Sunnyside, Wellington and Dragerton (East Carbon) before building their final home in Green River. While raising their family, she kept herself busy at Peacock's Market. She also spent time gardening, quilting, canning, genealogy, rock hunting and helping others. Her love for the lord was apparent throughout her life. She was always active in the church and expressed it in her many church callings, such as stake missionary and relief society president just to name a few.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two siblings, Victor and Buddy, and her daughter, Leona Gwen Weihing.

She is survived by her siblings, Jean Ufford and George "Jerry" Dimick, both of Vernal; her children, Barbara Cartwright, Logan, James (Carol) Peacock, Payson, Becky (Stan) Chappell, Richfield, and Tammie (Jack) Frost, Dillon, Mont.

Funeral service, Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, 11 a.m., Green River LDS Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held Sunday evening, Sept. 16 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 E. Main Street, in Price, and Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church in Green River. Interment will follow at the Price City Cemetery at 3 p.m.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Bonnie Nielsen for the love, friendship and sisterhood she showed to Ellen as well as the Richfield Care Center and their staff for their tender loving care this past year.

"Wait just a minute"....... We will miss you Grandma Chickie.
