Richard J. Erickson, 74, of Pontoon Beach formerly of Malta, Mont., passed away after a lingering illness Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
He was born Nov. 16, 1937 in Malta, Mont., to Edwin N. and Georgia T. Erickson. He attended the University of Utah and Northern Montana College. He married the former Mary Lynne Gonsowsky Oct. 25, 1966.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lynne Erickson, Pontoon Beach; son, James Scott Erickson, of Pinedale, Wyo; two daughters and a son in law, Shelly Ann and Scott Stump, Glen Carbon, Ill., and Traci Lynn Carrier, North Augusta, S.C.; son, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; bother Edwin T. Erickson and sister Harriet Jean Kimura.
