On Saturday, Sept. 29, the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum will join 1,400 other participating museums for the eighth annual Museum Day Live! This program opens the doors of museums to free admission to encourage learning and the spread of knowledge nationwide.

Inclusive by design, Museum Day Live! fulfills Smithsonian Media's mission to make cultural education accessible to everyone. For one day only, The Prehistoric Museum will give free access to visitors. Last year's event drew over 350,000 museum-goers nationwide, and this year's Museum Day Live! is expected to attract close to 400,000 participants.

"Museums are a great way to encourage learning. Museum Day is a great opportunity for The Prehistoric Museum to offer itself to the public free for a day in the face of hard economic times,"

said Dr. Kenneth Carpenter, Museum Director/Paleontologist.

This museum offers Archaeology, Paleontology, and Geology native to the area. There are Observation Labs where the visitor can see the "behind the scenes" action and speak one on one with the preparators.
