PRICE - Myrtle Ree Jessen Slaugh, age 83, passed away on Aug. 22, 2012 in Price. She was born on May 21, 1929 in Price to Dowd and Myrtle Larsen Jessen. She married Chester F. Slaugh on June 14, 1953 in Price.
Myrtle Ree was born and raised in Price. She attended Carbon College and USU, graduating with a Home Economics degree. She and Chester owned and operated Slaugh Floral & Nursery and a hardware store on Main Street in Price. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading numerous books.
Survived by her children: Bryce Slaugh, Price, Linda (Larry) Daley, Huntington, Janice (Larry) Bruno, Price, Brent Slaugh, Murray, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brothers: Dowd "Bob" (Barbara) Jessen, Kentfield, Calif., David (Bettie) Jessen, Flagstaff, Ariz., and sister Lee Strang, Murray.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Jeffrey Daley, and a brother-in-law, Richard Strang.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Fausett Mortuary Chapel, 680 E. 100 S., Price. A viewing was held on Saturday, from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Fausett Mortuary. Interment will be at the Price City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
