CARBONVILLE - Our beloved mom, grandma, sister, and friend, Pat Williams, passed away at her home on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at the age of 68, after years of struggle with Parkinson's Disease.
She was born in Price on Dec. 11, 1943 to Rex and Irene Hartley Tryon. She grew up in Wellington and attended school there.
Pat and Larry Williams were married on Aug. 1, 1960. Together they raised their children Ron and Trishia.
Pat worked at the Price City Post Office for many years, while there she made many friends on her different routes. Some of her closest friends were the people she worked with and met while there. She later retired from the Postal Service. She loved gardening and growing vegetables and beautiful flowers in her yard. She enjoyed quilting and belonged to the Castle Country Quilters Guild in Price. She loved to hand quilt, especially when surrounded by friends and family.
Pat loved to serve others and generously gave of her time and talents to countless people, young and old alike. She was active with Hospice and became very close with many of the people she helped. Her highlight in life was her grandchildren. She was a dedicated and loyal supporter of them and attended their activities, games and special occasions.
Pat was a loyal friend to many people and she cherished her friendships. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served her callings faithfully and her visiting teaching was always a priority that she looked forward to.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Kim Williams and their daughters Sierra, Ronni Lynn and Kennedy, Price; her daughter and son-in-law, Trishia and Gene Shaw and their daughters Tori Anne and Staci Anne, Green River, Wyo. Pat is also survived by her sisters, Elaine Naylor, Salt Lake City, and Vodis (Hayden) Hunter, Price; her brothers, Fred (Petra) Tryon, Price, and David (Judy) Tryon, Sandy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Bernel and Rex; her sister, Mary Christensen and her only grandson Caleb Williams.
Pat loved all of her family and she will be deeply missed.
Funeral service, Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, 2 p.m., at the Gordon Creek LDS Ward (175 N. 1280 W.) Price. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 E. Main Street) Price on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery (1850 E. 800 N.) Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Pat at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
