Helper will sign covenant supporting local military

The Helper City Council has passed a resolution supporting the military men and women of the the town. The council agreed to sign a Community Covenant with the National Guard.

The covenant program is designed to make city leaders aware of the needs of service members and their families before, during and after deployment.

The signing ceremony take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday during the Helper Arts and Music Festival.

The council also appointed Sandra Diamanti, an Air Force veteran active in the American Legion, as the city's liaison with the military.
