Max Frank Zupon, age 83, passed away peacefully of causes incident with age in Sun City, Ariz., the morning of Aug. 6, 2012. He was born to John and Mary Herman Zupon in Rolapp (Royal) and enjoyed his early life growing up in Carbon County. He had three siblings; Frieda Dillon, Las Vegas, Nev., John Zupon, Helper (deceased), and Edward Zupon, Salt Lake City (deceased). He attended elementary school in Helper and high school in Price. He married his high school sweetheart Dorothy Marvosh (deceased), and had five children. They later divorced. He is survived by his wife Pearl Christensen Zupon, and his five children, Mitzi MacKay (Jay), Max, Michael (Shizuko), Mark (Marilyn), Paul (Jennifer), seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was employed the majority of his working life by Chevron Oil, Salt Lake City, retiring at age 59 and subsequently moving to Sun City, Ariz. While at Chevron he was active with the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union, and was the local chapter president. He enjoyed golf, hiking and the outdoors. He was a member of the Masons.
At the request of the deceased, no services will be held.
