Price accepting applications for vacant council position

With the recent resignation of Price City council member Jeanne McEvoy, the city council is looking to fill the open seat by the end of this month.

According to the information provided in a legal notice from Price City, applications are currently being accepted for the position. Those interested in submitting an application must have it turned into the city by 4 p.m. on Aug. 17.

Some of the requirements for applying for the position include an application letter to the city which is not limited to a person's name, address, telephone number, why the applicant is interested in filling the vacancy, qualifications and experience for the position, the citizen's registered voter status and verification of U.S. citizenship and residency for 12 consecutive months in Price City.

The Price City council will go over the applications and make a decision.The person appointed to the council will hold the position until Dec. 31, 2013.
