Ann Slavensky passed away at her home in Butte, Mont., on July 24, 2012. She was taken to Heaven by the angels where she was reunited with her loving husband, Rudy.

Ann was born Anna Mae Kerbovich to Mary Brotovich and Tony Kerbovich on Nov. 17, 1929 in Tolerburg, Colo. At an early age the family moved to Spring Glen where she attended schools in Spring Glen and Price.

At the age of 17, Ann met the love of her life, Rudy F. Slavensky and there married on Nov. 22, 1947 in Helper at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Ann and Rudy were blessed on June 30, 1949 with the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Judy Ann, the special angel in their lives. Ann and Rudy lived a wonderful 50 years in Helper before moving to Butte in 1998. They spent 52 happily married years together until his death in February of 2000.

Ann was blessed by her daughter, granddaughters and great-grand daughter and her whole world centered around Judy, Laura, Lisa and Isabella.

Ann enjoyed spending many great times with all her amazing friends at lunches and dinners. Ann was full of energy and her Slovenian heritage kept her ready for the next polka party. She was a gracious lady, a great dresser and was well respected by everyone who met her. She greeted everyone with her big, warm smile, sparkling eyes and a loving hug. She made everyone feel special and always welcomed her family home with a fresh baked apple strudel, Gramma's way of saying "I love you".

Ann spent many hours volunteering at St. James Hospital and was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She also helped any friend in need and never said no to any request to lend a hand to another person making everyone who was fortunate enough to know her feel special. She was a great role model to young and old alike.

Everyone loved Ann's homey candy, divinity and Italian pizelles. She spent hours with family and friends baking cookies and sweets for the holidays and special occasions.

Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 yers, Rudy, her parents, Tony and Mary Kerbovich, brothers, Johnny and Frank Ularich and Tony Kerbovich, her sisters, Mary Klarich and Angie Zorn and her son-in-law, Dr. Alan Belknap.

Ann is survived by her only daughter, Judy Ann Belknap of Butte, granddaughter and fiance', Laura Belknap and Michael Beyer, Santa Clara, Calif., granddaughter, Lisa Belknap and great-granddaughter Isabella Belknap of Missoula, Mont., and Judy's loyal companion Zuzu. Ann is also survived by her sister, Flora Kokal, Price, a very special niece who was like a second daughter, Jeannette Marasco, Spring Glen, loving niece, Mary Ann Morgan, West Jordan, and many other cherished nieces and nephews.

Services and a celebration of Ann's life will be held this November at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Butte. Details of the arrangements will be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Spirit Parish, 440 Continental Drive, Highlands Hospice, 3703 Harrison Avenue or Our Lady of the Rockies, 3100 Harrison Avenue, all in Butte, Montana 59701

A Polka Lover's Prayer

Lord, I love to do the polka

The happy music can't be beat

When I hear that snappy rhythm

Wings seem to grown upon my feet.

When my time here is up, they

Can play a polka,

No sad organ music for me.

No tears, no flowers, just

Polka music and I'll come dancing

Lord to thee.

"Until we meet again, you'll always be in my heart forever. You are now my guardian angel." Your loving daughter, Judy.
