BRIGHAM CITY - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather, Cambron R. Petersen, 90, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him in Brigham City.
He was born on March 10, 1922 in Price, a son of Charles and Josephine Cambron Petersen.
He was reared and educated in Price.
Cambron served in World War II as a staff sergeant in the Army. He was the first soldier returning from World War II to Price as a wounded soldier.
Cambron married his sweetheart, Evelyn J Rasmussen on Aug. 1, 1945 in the Salt Lake City and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They had three sons, James C., Danny V. and Robert R. Petersen.
He retired from Thiokol as a Security Supervisor.
Cambron and Evelyn enjoyed spending the winters in Wellton, Ariz., and met many wonderful friends.
He enjoyed painting, camping, hunting, fishing and golfing and got a hole in one in Wellton, Ariz.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Care Center for the excellent care Cambron received.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn, Brigham City; one son, Robert (Nancy) Petersen, Ogden; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, James and Danny, granddaughter, Jodee, daughter-in-law, Cindy Petersen, four brothers, Delbert, Chuck, Wesley, Charles Laverne Petersen and four sisters, Annie Marie, Eava, Mae Marie and Mary.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Price Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 3.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 S., Brigham City.
