Bennett Mangone, 96, passed away at his daughter's house in Central Point, Ore., on June 8, 2012. He had been under her care for the last 22 months.

He had a great love for his life and lived it.

He was a Staff Sergeant in World War II with the 1503rd Army Air Force.
He worked as a welder for Independent Coal & Coke in Castle Gate for over 30 years.
He loved gardening and fishing.
Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Helper on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 at 2 p.m. He will be buried next to his brother, Gabe.
