The Lighthouse Fire in Range Creek was declared 100 percent contained Sunday afternoon.

Seven Type Three ground crews, assisted by four helicopters and six engines were engaged in the battle.

The fire of undetermined origin began last Wednesday. It had spread over 862 acres before being contained.

There were no structures reported destroyed, although a youth camp had to be evacuated.

Range Creek is home to an archaeological trove of Ancient Native American cultural artifacts.
