Little by little, the Price American Legion baseball team is improving on the field and at the plate. While the team's win-loss record may not show it, the effort is definitely there.

In their Friday evening game against West Jordan, the Price offense took early control of the game getting players on base before scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead.

Unfortunately that momentum would not continue as West Jordan used a combination of speed on the basepaths and timely hitting to take over the game sending Price to a 19-3 defeat.

Price head coach Willie Ellington said the effort of the team out in the field has improved, but can still use some work. He noted the team's ability to stop their opponents from having a big inning is still not going in their favor as mistakes have led to longer innings and more runs for the opposing team.

Price will take on East on July 9 at the College of Eastern Utah field at 6 p.m.
