Ronald Dave Oster, of Potomac, Mont., passed away from cancer on Feb. 13, 2012.
He was born in Price to John "Trapper John" Oster and Betty Lou Oster on March 8, 1942.
Ronald grew up in Utah and Illinois and graduated from East Carbon High School in 1960. While in high school, Ronald excelled in sports, particularly weight lifting where he earned numerous trophies and awards in his weight class. He also loved to hunt and fish in the Range Creek and Green River areas.
Ronald was a carpenter by trade, but later on became a project estimator for several contractors in the Seattle, Wash., area. As a project estimator, Ronald helped his companies receive the jobs that helped shape the present-day skyline of Seattle and establish many of the present resorts in the Hawaiian islands.
After retirement, Ronald moved to Potomac, Mont. and lived with his daughter and son-in-law.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister Sandy, League City, Texas; brother Wayne and sister-in-law Michelle, Clearfield; son John and daughter-in-law Melba, Boise, Idaho; daughter Toni and son-in-law Ken Loots, Potomac, Mont; son Laddie, Denver, Colo; four grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services at Helper cemetery will be conducted on July 13, 2012 at 10 a.m.
