PRICE - Our dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Helen Trumbo Schmidt, age 94 passed away June 25, 2012. Surrounded by love, Helen drifted quietly to heaven after a long battle with sickness and pain.
She was born October 13, 1917 in Paonia, Colo., to Morgan and Leona Whadford Trumbo.
Married John E. Schmidt Nov. 12, 1936 in Delta, Colo. He died April 6, 1990. Helen touched many lives with her special gifts and kindness. A Pink Lady at the Castleview Hospital for 30-plus years, Helen's dedication to others will always be remembered.
Free from the restrictions of this world, Helen is able to soar as an angel and look upon all of us with love.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Helen, including United Mine Workers, the staff at Castleview Hospital, Heirloom Inn, and Community Nursing Services.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hall, granddaughter, Rebekka Monson and her husband Mike, and great-grandson, Connor Monson, all of Park City; and her brother, John Trumbo, Grand Junction, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Schmidt; sister, Thelma Drobnick; parents, Morgan and Leona Trumbo; son-in-law, Norm Hall; and many dear friends. She is now at peace, reunited with her lifelong love, Johnnie.
Graveside service, Saturday, June 30, 2012, 1 p.m., Price City Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Saturday from noon to 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Price Chapter of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
