SALT LAKE CITY - After truly living 11 years with Appendicle cancer, Patricia passed away at home with her family at her side. Born May 9, 1938 in Standardville to Mario Charles Picco and Anna Krajnc Picco. Raised in Latuda. She attended Notre Dame in Price and College of St. Mary of the Wasatch in Salt Lake City graduating with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a double minor in Philosophy and Library Science. She married Frank D. Politano in 1963 and had two daughters, Gena Maria and Monica Ann. She held various positions and titles at St. Olaf School, St. Ambrose, St. Vincent de Paul Parishes and the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City. Of all the designations, her most important and fulfilling was that of Nonna.
She is survived by her husband Frank; daughters Gena (Scott Maxfield), Monica (Ted Frederick); grandchildren Sarah Elizabeth, Jacob Joseph and Eleanor Rose Frederick. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Charles Frank and Eugene Mario.
Please join us for a joyous Wake to be held Friday June 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S. 900 E. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 S. 2300 E., with a gathering time one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or to J. E. Cosgriff Memorial Catholic School (2335 Redondo Ave. SLC, Utah 84108) in her honor.
