Baseball can be a cruel and physically draining sport. And when things don't seem to be going well, a curse of bad luck can sweep through a dugout like a fast moving thunderstorm.

For the Price American Legion baseball team, the start to the 2012 season has not played out in the manner they would have hoped for.

With a 13-0 loss to Tooele on Friday afternoon on the road, the team moved to 0-5 on the young season.

Despite the record, the team has been improving from game to game, said Assistant coach Joe Rhoades.

While the team has played relatively error and mistake-free baseball in their first five games, the team has been susceptable to big innings by the opposing team which has them playing from behind for the rest of the game.

"Things are starting to get better," Rhoades said. "We're making fewer mistakes and our defense is starting to play much better."

The Price American Legion baseball team will be looking to show more improvement on the field as they take on Murray on Monday and Cyprus on Friday at the College of Eastern Utah baseball field with first pitch at 6 p.m.
