Our loving Father, Kenneth Perry, age 60, peacefully passed away at his home in Midvale on June 13, 2012. Born in Dragerton to Marvin and Frances Perry; he was the youngest of three sons.

Kenneth was a graduate of East Carbon High School and went on to earn a Bachelors of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Utah. Along with his degree, he was presented the "Old-Timers Award" for outstanding and senior student.

He married Gerrie Elkin on June 29, 1972 and their union was sealed for all time and eternity in the Manti LDS Temple on Feb. 12, 1993.

Kenneth enjoyed a thirty-year career working as a mining engineer for the local coal mines and traveled the world over, assisting in the development of new mining technologies.

His most favorite hobbies included sharing time with his loving family trolling for lake trout at Fish Lake or Flaming Gorge and enjoying the natural beauty and animals of Yellowstone National Park.

Kenneth was also an avid trapsman. Running his traplines in the Utah hills, he frequently amused his daughter by cleverly warming burrito lunches on the engine manifold of his 4X4.

Kenneth is survived by his son, Steven Perry (Cheyenne); and daughter DeAnna (Mike) Perry-Danis, Hubbell, Mich., and St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael (Dona) Perry, Mikelle Perry, Kade Perry, great-granddaughter, Melannie; and his brother, Dean, West Valley City. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin; mother, Frances; brother, Laird; and his beloved wife, Gerrie.

Viewing will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Crescent Ridge 2nd Ward, 10975 S. Prescott (1650 E), Sandy, with a service starting at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
