Helper and Price American Legion baseball teams ready to start their seasons

Both the Helper and Price American Legion baseball teams are looking forward to the start of their 2012 seasons this week.

The Helper American Legion team will play their first game at home on Wednesday against Tooele at the USU Eastern baseball field at 6 p.m. Helper will then play against Hunter on Friday at the Carbon High School baseball field at 6 p.m.

The Price American Legion baseball team started off their season with two exhibition losses on Friday, according to coach Willie Ellington. Price will open their season on the road on Wednesday against Granger at 6 p.m. They will play their first home game on Friday against West Salt Lake at the USU Eastern field at 6 p.m.

With the season about to begin for Price, Ellington said the team is still holding tryouts for those looking to join the team. Participants must be between 16-19 years old. For more information, contact Willie Ellington at (435) 637-7483.
