PRICE - Our loving father, grandfather and friend, Charles William Bezyack, age 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 30, 2012.

He was born Oct. 14, 1925 in Heiner to Charles and Katherine Kapps Bezyack.

Married Louise Denison on May 9, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nev. She died May 4, 1998.

Charlie, back in 1936, started as a grocer, at the age of 12. He later moved to Sunnyside and worked at the Utah Fuel Company. He owned the Wasatch Store as a meat cutter for three years. He then moved to the Dragerton Shopping Center for two years before going into the military. Charlie honorably served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.

After the war Charlie worked for 10 years with Diamond Market in Price. He then owned Bezyack's Market in Helper and later the Better Buy in Price. Charlie wore many hats in his life such as butcher, produce man, checker, stock boy, janitor and accountant. He let people charge their groceries to help them between paychecks or when in need even before charge accounts were invented.

After his retirement he went to work at Etzel Realty. He was a life long member of the Price Lions Club and Price Elks Lodge. He played the trumpet and accordion in the Frank Compagni Band on Saturday nights for many years. He also enjoyed playing piano at the Senior Citizens Center on Wednesdays.

Whenever Charlie was around, good times could be had by all especially if he was playing a polka for us to dance to. Charlie always made time for the people he loved whether it was trips to Lake Borem, fishing and camping with the trailer, barbecuing and eating on the patio, or sitting down to teach his grandchildren how to play cards.

The most important thing to Charlie was taking care of his family. His daughter Kathy and her two sons, Brandon and Krispen Blackett and his son Karl and his two children, Karl Jr. and Amanda Bezyack. The most fun of all with Charlie was the slide shows for all of us to enjoy. Generous, kind and fun best describes Charlie.

Survived by his children, Kathy Blackett and Karl Bezyack; grandchildren, Brandon and Krispen Blackett, Karl Jr. (Cassie) and Amanda Bezyack.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife Louise Denison Bezyack.

Graveside services were held Monday, June 4. at Noon, Price City Cemetery. Family received friends on Monday morning from 10-11:45 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome to share memories of Charlie online at
