CARBONVILLE - Clemont Ray Bentley, age 64, passed away May 27, 2012 at home while surrounded by his family.
He was born June 13, 1947 in Price to Ferrell "Bud" Bentley and Maxine Elnora Kirby.
Married Karen Rosalie Prettyman, June 10, 1967, they later divorced. On April 13, 1996, he married Dawn Bennett in Price where they shared 16 wonderful years together.
Clemont was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School. He worked at Plateau and Willow Creek mines for 25 years and later went to work for the Carbon County Road Department. Clemont was a dedicated worker, who believed in working hard so he could play even harder on the weekends. He loved the great outdoors, especially boating in Lake Powell or camping, fishing and hunting in the mountains with his family and friends. His outings were always an adventure and he created many memories that will last a lifetime.
Clemont was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who coached many softball teams. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Clemont had a host of friends and he made a positive impression on everyone he met. His friendship was the greatest gift that anyone could ask for and he will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by his wife, Dawn Bentley, Carbonville; daughters, Sandi (Troy) Nielsen, Carbonville; Paulette (Anthony) Sanchez, West Jordan; three sisters and three brothers, Jolene (Marvin) Safley, Price, Juanita (George) Anderson, Santaquin, Clinton Ferrell Bentley, Charles (Jenine) Bentley, both of Emery, Jeannette (Alan) Tweddell, Hotchkiss, Colo., Danny (Glenny) Bentley, Vernal; step-children, Brenda Francis, Orem, Juanita Hooker, Mapleton, Richard Weber, Richfield, Melanie Archibeque-Clark, Price, Jacob Archibeque, Jesse Archibeque, both of Missouri, Megan Archibeque, Carbonville; four grandchildren, Garret Ray Sanchez, CJ Alford, Kaitlyn and Chelese Nielsen, sixteen step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nephews, Alan Safley and Justin Bentley; and sister-in-law, Rhonda.
Funeral service, Friday, June 1, 2012, 2 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 E. Main Street) in Price. Family will be at Mitchell's Thursday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Clemont at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
