By Kevin Scannell Sun Advocate

With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, a special walk was created that brought around 30 people to walk from the New Heights clubhouse located at 77 S. 600 E. to the pavilion at Washington Park last Tuesday.

Drinks and refreshments awaited everyone at Washington Park where the crowd listened to speakers ranging from mental health advocates in the community to a law enforcement official on how the general public and agencies can better understand mental health issues.

Many of those who attended the walk were from Carbon County and a group was also bused up from Moab to attend.

Wayne Morrison (left) and Dane Keil take a moment to flex their muscles and stomp their feet during the walk last week.
