Kim Pratt returned to her heavenly home on May 7, 2012. Kim was born in Salt Lake City, on Nov. 16, 1969 to Bobby J. Fivecoat and Barbara Sue Beal. Most of her adult life, she struggled with numerous health problems, including diabetes. She remained cheerful and engaged in life despite these severe difficulties.
From 2000-2004 she worked for the Granite School District as a roaming lunch lady, preparing and serving food to children K-12 in schools throughout the district. In recent years, she spent most of her time at home in her bedroom. She loved dogs, in particular Chihuahuas, and owned a lot of them over the years. She loved to talk on the phone, even when there was nothing much to say-she seemed to just like having the phone to her ear and somebody she loved on the other end of the line. But she could definitely talk, about everything and anything. She also loved to watch movies. She liked to crochet blankets in bright colors like purple and red and she produced quite a few, so she crocheted simply for the pleasure of doing it.
The greatest joy in Kim's life were her nine beautiful grandchildren, all of whom survive her: Taylor, Travis, Makayla, Thomas, Kadance, Dani, Catherine, Dallas, and Priscilla. Travis and Dani will especially miss their beloved grandma who babysat them frequently. Kim is also survived by her husband Albert; children, Anthony (Mara) Pratt, Crystal (Jeff) May, Kellie Pratt, Barbara (Ashley) Mellenthin, and Junior (Jenn) Pratt; and father Bobby J. Fivecoat.
She was preceded in death by a baby son, Shawn; her mother Barbara Sue; father-in-law and mother-in-law Shirley and Charles Hogoboom; and both her Fivecoat and Beal grandparents.
A celebration of Kim's life was held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Kearns 7th Ward LDS Chapel.
