PRICE - Ben Gomez, Jr., age 75, passed away May 17, 2012 in Price.
He was born June 1, 1936 in Standardville to Benjamin and Eva Sanchez Gomez.
Married LouAnn Guarascio, April 9, 1981 in Lake Tahoe, Nev.
Ben was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling throughout the great outdoors. Ben worked at Hiawatha and Kaiser mines where he was instrumental in operating the first longwall in the United States. He was passionate about mining during his 38 years and his number one priority was safety.
He is survived by his wife, LouAnn; three sons, two daughters, several grandchildren and four brothers and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
A celebration of Ben's Life will be Thursday evening, May 24, 2012 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price with a memorial service starting at 7 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Ben at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
