The Carbon High School Track Team wound up their regular track season May 9-10 with the Region 12 Meet at Juab High School.

Although the girls team finished fifth overall, the girls team was led by an amazing performance by senior Regan Powell who finished in first place in the 3200 M, 1600 M, and 800 M races. A second place finish in the 400 M race was all that kept Regan from having a perfect performance. Regan ran the 3200 meter run in 12:18.07, the 1600 meter run in 5:30.16 seconds, and the 800 meter run in 2:23.83.

Kaleigh Potts finished first place in the girls high jump, while Amanda Freestone had 3rd place finishes in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and the 300 meter hurdles. Diana Olsen also had a 4th place finish in 3200 meter run and a 5th place finish in the 1600 meter run.

The boys finished in 3rd place with strong performances by several athletes. Dallas Anderson finished in 2nd place in the high jump. Dalton Nelson came in to the meet with the second longest jump in the state this year and has already qualified to compete at state. He was disappointed when he scratched all three of his jumps eliminating him from the long jump competition but he did well finishing 2nd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.34 seconds, 4th in the 100 meter dash, with a time of 11.52 seconds and helped the boys 4x4 relay team race to a 3rd place finish.

Jordan Blanc had his best performance of the year in both the 100 meter dash and the long jump. Jordan finished in 2nd place in the long jump with a jump of 21' 2" and finished in 2nd place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.43 seconds. Jordan also finished 3rd in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.21.

Tyler Johnson turned in strong performances in both hurdles events. Tyler finished 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.16 seconds, and he finished 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 40.91 seconds. Sophomore Garrett Marsing contributed by finishing in 3rd place in the 1600 meter run in a time of 4:34.26.

Luke Olsen also scored with a 4th place finish in the 400 meter and 6th place finish in the 800 meter run. The boys 4x4 relay team composed of Jordan Blanc, Colton England, Tyler Johnson, and Dalton Nelson took 3rd place and qualified for state and the boys Medley relay team composed of Colton England, Justin Hepworth, Luke Olsen, and Dallin Quintin also took 3rd place qualifying for state.
