2 seriously hurt in 9 Mile crash

A single vehicle rollover accident on 9 Mile Canyon Road on Thursday morning left two men injured, one seriously, according to the Carbon County Sheriff's Office.
A white Ford F-350 was traveling northbound on 9 Mile Canyon Road toward Peter's Point around 8:50 a.m. when the truck went off the road, colliding with rocks and going airborne for 50 feet before rolling over, ending back in the middle of the road near mile post 41, according to Lieutenant Tory Christiansen.
Two male passengers, a 20-year-old driver and a 27-year-old passenger, both of Price, were in the vehicle during the accident. The passenger was ejected from the vehicle, suffering back injuries and a lacerated lung. The driver suffered a minor concussion, according to Christiansen. Both the driver and passenger were not identified. The two men were driving in a truck that belongs to Thermal Pro Installation, a Price-based company.
Due to the severity of the accident and the injuries sustained by the occupants, both men were transported by Air Med to Utah Medical Center and Utah Valley Medical Center.
According to the police report, the driver allegedly said he couldn't remember what took place before the accident. Speed and driving under the influence are not suspected in the accident and no citations have been issued, Christiansen said.
