PRICE- Our beloved wife, mother, yia yia, sister, daughter and friend, Nancy Lyn Stavar Mahleres, age 60, passed away April 17, 2012 in Salt Lake City.
She was born October 9, 1951 in Price to Frank and Phyllis Callas Stavar.
Married the love of her life Johnny Mahleres on May 17, 1975 at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Price.
Nancy graduated from Carbon High School and the College of Eastern Utah. She enjoyed her job as a training coordinator at CCR&R at USU Eastern. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family. She loved being Yia Yia to her grandson Koda. Nancy was a devoted wife and mother who loved to open her heart and home to family and friends. It was a great privilege for any of those who had the opportunity to know and spend time with such a caring and patient soul. Most would never know what a courageous battle she fought with Lupus for the majority of her life. We know she will be watching over her family and friends especially her grandson and soon to arrive granddaughter. Her joyful and ever present laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survived by her loving husband, Johnny Mahleres; daughter,Nicole Mahleres (Kenny Smith); grandson, Koda Smith; mother, Phyllis Christenson, all of Price; sisters, Frankie (Kerry) Jensen, Debbie (Chad) Tabor, both of Price; Judy (Gary) Gettler, Brighton, Colo.; sister in law, Renee Soumbeniotis, Reno, Nev.; loving nieces and nephews, Kerry, Christy, Michael, Justin, Khris, Susie, Tanner, Fiorella, Elene, Michael; great nieces and nephews, Bo, Anthony, Vinnie, Haley, Colton, Korbin, Reagan; many other loving family members.
Preceded in death by her baby boy; father, Frank Stavar; father and mother in law, John and Bessie Mahleres; many other close relatives.
Trisagion Service, Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Thursday and Friday one hour prior to service at Mitchell's. Committal, Price City Cemetery.
