USU Eastern student art on display through May 3

USU Eastern's Art Department is hosting its Annual Juried Student Art Show through May 3 at Gallery East. The art show is open to all USU Eastern students and includes all art forms and media.

Gallery director Noel Carmack said, "Even though we don't have as many entries as in past years, we are delighted to see some strong work in all the visual art disciplines. We have a number of outstanding drawings, paintings, photos and ceramic pieces. It's really worth coming to see."

The annual show at Gallery East has included a variety of media, including oil painting, drawing, graphic arts, printmaking, photography, and ceramics. The work will be juried by USU Eastern art department faculty and awards will be given out for the most noteworthy pieces.

A reception and awards ceremony will be held on Friday, April 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. Students, family, and interested public are welcome to attend. The gallery is free and open to the public during the academic year.

Gallery East's Spring 2012 hours are: Monday through Thursday 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.Closed Fridays Closed Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
