After playing against opponents during non-region play through the first two weeks of the season, the Carbon High boys soccer team is taking the final steps before starting in Region 12 competition this week.

In their last game on Monday afternoon against Maeser Prep, the Dinos battled to a scoreless first half. In the second half, both teams would try to gain an advantage but it would not last very long. Both Carbon and Maeser Prep scored two goals each in the second half for a 2-2 tie.

Carbon had goals from Carlos Estudillo and Tanner Gagnon in the game. Gagnon leads the Dinos with 11 goals so far this season.

Carbon is now 2-3-1 on the season and is currently in second place in Region 12 behind first place Payson. The Dinos traveled on Wednesday afternoon to play Delta. Results will be printed in Tuesday's Sun Advocate.
