The Utah Humanities Council has announced the appointment of Nancy Bentley as a member of the organization's Board of Directors. Bentley is one of five new board members who will serve at least a three-year term. As a nonprofit organization that serves the entire state of Utah, the Utah Humanities Council selects board members from a wide variety of backgrounds, and from across the state.

Bentley will be Price's connection to the Utah Humanities Council, so feel free to contact her for more information about UHC and its role in your local community.

Since 1987, Bentley has been the Director of Active Re-Entry, a grassroots community based program which assists individuals of all ages and all disabilities to live more independently within their own home and community. Previously, she was Human Services Program Manager for the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments where she oversaw the initiation of a number of programs including food banks, child abuse prevention programs, a women's shelter, and Active Re-Entry, to name a few.

She received a B.S. in Environmental Studies/Range Management from Utah State University, which led to her first job at the SEUALG as the Water Quality Manager, coordinating and overseeing the installation of a sewer system to cabins at Scofield Reservoir before moving into human services. She has a M.S.S. degree from USU. Programs involving animal-assisted therapy are a great passion of hers.
