After a rough start to Scenic West Athletic Conference play, the USU Eastern Eagles may have gained a bit of confidence after taking three of four games from Colorado Northwestern Community College on Friday and Saturday.

The Eagles took game one with a strong pitching performance from Kort Christoffersen with six innings and eight strikeouts. CNCC made a huge comeback to take game two scoring nine runs after being down 6-0 heading into the eighth inning.

Eastern recovered in game three, taking a 5-4 win. Freshman Chance Abrath led the offense as he hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning which tied the game. Sophomore Alex Church singled home freshman Kye Raymond in the sixth to give the Eagles a 5-4 lead.

In game four, the Eagles wasted no time on offense bursting out for eight runs in an 8-0 shutout win to take the series.

Eastern is now 11-15 overall, 3-9 SWAC. They will travel to Salt Lake City to play two doubleheaders against Salt Lake CC on Friday and Saturday.
