DWR seeks information on poaching of cow elk
The Utah Division Wildlife Resources is seeking the public's assistance in identifying those responsible for illegally killing a cow elk in Emery County.
DWR Conservation officers located the head of the animal after receiving a UTiP Hotline call on February 28.
The incident occurred in the Huntington South Fields near the intersection of Huntington South Flat Loop Road and McFadden Road. Evidence gathered at the scene suggests that the elk was killed elsewhere and brought to this location, probably sometime during the last two weeks of February.
Anyone with information related to this crime, or any other, is asked to contact the UTiP Hotline at 800-662-3337. Requests for confidentiality are respected and monetary rewards are available for information that leads to arrest and conviction.
