St. Patrick's Day this weekend
The annual St. Patrick's Day parade will actually take place in Price on St. Patrick's Day this year. The parade will start at 400 East and Main Street at noon on Saturday.
And as the nation and town celebrate this St. Patrick's Day with frothy pints of Guinness, many will raise glasses to recognize the hallowed patron saint of Ireland (who was actually British!).
While those glasses are raised, however, consider cheering a few other Irishmen who made contributions to the world as well.
Did you know an Irishman, John Philip Holland, invented the submarine? And that color photography was invented by Ireland's John Joly. In addition guided missiles, the modern tractor, and even a cure for Leprosy were all invented by Irishmen.
So as you search for that elusive four leaf clover, remember that Ireland has given us much more than just good beer.
