The Division of Wildlife Resources will sponsor an open house in Price on Thursday, Feb. 16 to help deer hunters with any questions they may have about applying for the 2012 big game hunts.

As most hunters have heard, the state has been divided into 30 separate deer management units. Deer hunting maps are available, but there may be some questions about boundary lines and descriptions. The division wants to help hunters with unit boundaries and any other questions they may have about applying for a hunt.

Another matter concerns a change proposed by the Wildlife Board that the Division revisit the minimum statewide buck to doe ratio of 18 bucks per 100 does to a ratio that better fits the needs of specific units and hunter opportunity in contrast with a "one size fits all" management objective. The Division wants to hear from its constituents to find out if they favor such a change.

DWR staff will be on hand to answer any questions hunters may have and record any input they would like to provide. The open house will take place at the Division of Wildlife Resources Price office, located at 319 N. Carbonville Road from 6-8 p.m.

People with other questions, may call the Division office at: 435-613-3700.
