Father, grandfather, great grandfather, Ike passed away Feb. 3, 2012 in Sandy.
He was born Nov. 29, 1920 in Castle Gate to Nymphos Simmons and Edna McDonald. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine Corps. and the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a Carbon County Court probation officer as an "Alcohol Specialist." After retirement he continued to work for Carbon County as a non-moving traffic violation hearing officer. He enjoyed reading, camping and fishing with his nephews.
Ike is survived by his daughter, Gay (Larry) Nielsen, three grandchildren, Jeff (Miki), Brad (Jane), Nikki (Alan) Greer, 10 greatgrandchildren, one sister, Loa Jean Collins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at noon at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 So. Camp Williams Road on State Route 68. A viewing will be held 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. prior to services.
