Volunteers launched a search in the Nine Mile Canyon for two pipeline workers who have been missing since Saturday night.

The Carbon County Sheriff's Department and the Abby and Jennifer Recovery Foundation are helping to organize the search for Mark Widegren and Brian Axe, both 28 years old.

The two men were in the area working on a pipeline for W.C. Streigel Inc. They left work at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. They were last seen at the Silver Dollar bar in Price on Saturday night. They paid their bill at 11:30 and Axe called his wife to say they were leaving the establishment between 11:30 and midnight. They have not been heard from since.

When the men failed to arrive at work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, they were reported missing by their families.

The men were driving a gold 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with Colorado license plate 724-TDP. Law enforcement is hoping to begin an aerial search of the area but have been unable to do so because of poor weather conditions.
