By JOHN SERFUSTINI
Sun Advocate associate editor

The trout in Helper's Gigliotti Pond haven't had much to eat since the ice formed. The poor things are probably hungry enough to eat meal worms.

The Division of Wildlife Resources has been saying that fishing can still be hot on iced-over lakes for this reason. On Tuesday, three DWR guys proved it.

Biologists Casey Olsen and Mike Bolinsky showed up with public information officer Brent Stettler to give an impromptu demonstration of what can be done on a small lake where there's not much fishing pressure.
