Rodney "Rod" Lee Oliver, age 62, of Exeter, Mo., died at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012.
He was born in Price on Sept. 28, 1949, the son of Vernell Charles and Norma Rue (Safley) Oliver.
Rod is survived by his mother, Norma Oliver, Purdy, Mo.; one daughter, Malisa Every and her husband, Cregg, Wellington; three brothers, Louis Oliver and his wife, Carol, Fruitland, Idaho; Sidney "Sid" Oliver and his wife, Bonnie, Fairview, Mo; and Cody Oliver and his wife, Jenny, Indiana; two sisters, Sherry Alger and her husband, Tom, Fairview, Mo; and Brenda Oliver, Purdy, Mo; and five grandchildren, Chelsey, Nakayla, Morgan, Makena and Logan Every, all of Wellington.
He was preceeded in death by his father; two uncles, Edward "Teddy" Grant Oliver and John Oliver an one aunt, Larie Johansen.
Rod grew up and received his education in Price. He was a cattle farmer and enjoyed working with his cows. In 1987, he moved from Wellington to Barry County, Mo., to make his home. He was a cowboy at heart. Rod was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cassville, Mo.
A memorial service will be held on Feb. 4, 2012 at the Cowboy Club in Wellington from 1 - 4 p.m. Come and share your memories of Rod.
