PRICE - Kenneth Oran Tryon born Oct. 12, 1937 in Sweets to Levi Babe Tryon and Luella Heaps Tryon passed away peacefully Jan. 29, 2012 with his girls, Vena, Pam and Jennifer by his side.

On March 22, 1961, Ken married Vena Mahan in Elko, Nev., accompanied by best friends Gary and Carole Gustas.

Together Ken and Vena had four children Scott, Pam, Annette and Jennifer.

Ken graduated from Carbon High School in 1955. His career began with UDOT (Utah Department of Transportation) and he retired at age 50 after 25 years of service.

Ken contracted out his expertise to several engineering firms including RB&G, DMJM and Sverdrup and Deleuw. REALLY retiring in 2000. Family was everything to him.

He was an expert gardener, growing the best tomatoes in Carbon County. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and gambling. He never met a "Double Diamond" or video poker machine he didn't like. When he could not do these things due to his health he loved driving his Ford truck and listening to "Willie's Roadhouse."

Survived by his devoted wife Vena; daughters Pam (Angelo) Konakis and Jennifer Tryon; grandchildren, Angela (Skip) Rice, Nicole (Travis) Manus, Zak (Liz) Konakis, Jaysie Tryon; great grandchildren Dallen and Kailyn Rice; brother Ralph; sisters Karen Haeck and JoAnn (Joe) Goodrich and numerous nieces, nephews and good friend Tom Bruno.

Preceded in death by son Scott; daughter Annette; parents, in-laws Cliff and Pearl Mahan; brothers Bill and Walt; sister Thelma Jones and his mentor and friend Ferris Hunt.

Funeral service Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home in Price. Family will be at Mitchell's one hour prior to service. Interment Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to the American Heart Association. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are welcome daily where friends may share memories of "KO" at
