Castle Heights Elementary students Zoey Kourianos, Nate Olson and Hayden Bonacci display the awards they won in the Patriot's Pen essay contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Nate won third place, Zoey took second and Hayden was the first place winner. The topic this year was, "Are You Proud of Your Country?" All three are students in Shannon Thompson's class. The students are joined by LaRoy Erickson and Duke Johnson of the VFW, who presented the certificates.
