A 48-year-old Price man was severely hurt Thursday night when he was struck by a train while he was walking along the tracks across from the city's Heritage Park.

Price Police Chief Aleck Shilaos said the victim, Duane Quintana, was apparently walking too close to the tracks when the train hit him at about 9:30 p.m. Quintana was being treated Friday for severe injuries to his right side at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake. A relative later told the Sun Advocate the man had lost his right arm.

Shilaos said an investigation is continuing.
