KENILWORTH - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, B. Ann Haycock, 72, passed away Jan. 9, 2012 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born July 31, 1939 in Rockbridge, Ill., to Leo and Norma Wahl Green. Following the death of her father she was adopted by Lee Kniffen.
She married the love of her life, Richard Haycock on June 8 and together they had five wonderful children.
Ann was proud of her community and she contributed greatly by starting the Carbon County Food Bank. She was a VISTA volunteer and AARP tax consultant for 23 years. Some of her favorite things were spending time with family in Huntington Canyon and being foster parents. She enjoyed sewing and working on crafts. Ann shared a deep and devoted faith in the Lutheran Church and was a member of Ascension St. Matthew's Church of Price.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Haycock; children, Keith (Colleen) Haycock, Ann Clark, Debi Simmons, Nancy Birrell, Mike (Kena) Haycock; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Ethlyn (John) Unger.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma; father, Leo; step-father, Lee; brother, Norman; granddaughter, Nikki Haycock; and special parents-in-law, Maude and Elvin Haycock.
A Celebration of Ann's Life will be Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, 6 p.m., Ascension St. Matthew's Church (522 Homestead Blvd) Price.
