Carbon County residents are being asked to donate their gently used coats during a drive to help the needy people in the community this week.

Coats can be dropped off at all local elementary schools, both junior highs and Carbon High. There will also be drop-off boxes at each city hall, the county courthouse, the senior center, USU Eastern's student center, in the atrium of the BTAC build and at Wellington's Post Office.

The coat give-away will be money from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the smaller building at the Fairgrounds Event Center. Coats will be given only to those in attendance.

Remaining coats will be given to the Community Clothing Closet to disburse as need.

The drive is sponsored by the Carbon County RSVP and Volunteer Center, AmeriCorps Literacy Initiative, USU Eastern AmeriCorps VISTA, AmeriCorps BEAR VISTA Project and the Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County.
